2019 Annual Conference: Know Before You Go for Speakers

The WSPMA 2019 Annual Conference is almost here, and we're excited for you to join us in Tacoma! Please review the following information to ensure your preparedness for the event.

Directions to the Hotel Murano

The 2019 WSPMA Annual Conference is being held at the Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma.

You will find the Hotel on the corner of Broadway and S 13th St. The hotel offers valet parking for $20, and there is a self-parking lot available at a rate of $16 per day.

Traffic Alert: There will be heavy traffic and road closures along Pacific Ave between S 9th Street and S 24th Street/Puyallup Ave from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 6.

Your name badge and conference program will be waiting for you at the registration desk. Your name badge is required to attend all Conference sessions and events.

Both the physicians' program and the assistants' program are available to review, and will be listed in further detail in the conference program, which you may pick up when you check in.

About Your Presentation

Please view the physicians' program and/or the assistants’ program to confirm the time of your presentation(s).

If you have pre-submitted your PowerPoint presentation, it will be loaded on the desktop of the presentation computer. If you have not submitted it, or need to make updates, please bring to the conference on a flash drive and arrange to load it to the computer either before the session starts in the morning or during breaks/lunch.

Mac Users: If you are using a Mac, be sure to bring your computer and appropriate converter cables. We will need to swap out computers before you present.

About the Annual Conference

Annual Business Meeting

Physicians: WSPMA invites its members to attend the Annual Membership Business Meeting where we will discuss pending legislation and policies that impact both finances and medical practices in the state. We will also be recruiting new volunteers for our working committees and Board of Trustees.

Assistants: The Washington State Podiatric Medical Assistants Association (WSPMAA) Annual Membership Business Meeting will occur at the same time. All WSPMAA members are requested to attend.

CME and CEU Credits

Physicians: The 2019 WSPMA Annual Conference is offering podiatric physicians up to 18 CME credits. Physicians must sign in and sign out each half day. Be sure to do this as you enter and leave the session room(s). 

Assistants: The WSPMAA Annual Conference is offering up to 15 CEU credits.

On-Site Events and Activities

WSPMA Conference attendees will have many opportunities to network with other local physicians and learn about amazing new products and services at a handful of breaks, receptions, and optional dinners. 

WSPMAA Silent Auction

Show your support for WSPMAA and the Erickson Scholarship Fund by donating to and participating in the annual Silent Auction. Bring items to donate to the auction to the registration desk on Friday morning, and then bid on items all day on Friday and Saturday.

The auction will close toward the end of the Saturday evening reception. More information will be available in the program book. 

PODPAC Donations

WSPMA members may also donate to the state PODPAC and national APMAPAC. Your donation to the PODPAC will also enter you into a drawing for exciting door prizes like $500–$700 Alaska Airlines Gift Certificates.

Passport to Prizes

Back by popular demand: the Passport to Prizes program! During breaks and evening receptions, visit with exhibitors, fill your passport with signatures and stamps, and submit it at the registration desk in to be eligible for a drawing to win great prizes. 

Our sponsors and exhibitors are important partners in podiatric medical care. When filling out your passport, please be sure to take the time to learn about each exhibitors' new innovations, products, and services. Their support makes the WSPMA Annual Conference possible.

Evening Receptions

On Friday and Saturday evening, join your fellow podiatric physicians and our conference exhibitors for a cocktail reception. This is a great opportunity to discuss advocacy among your peers, learn about new products and services, and enjoy a relaxed evening with new colleagues after a busy day of sessions.

Dinner Symposia

On Friday and Saturday evening, a few of our conference exhibitors will be hosting Dinner Symposia to discuss podiatry and present new products and services. If you're interested in attending a symposium, please see below for specific reservation details.
